We are looking to recruit a dynamic and talented DRM Resource Coordinator for an exciting role within OPM’s growing portfolio of work on Disaster Risk Management. This will be a project role based assignment in Ethiopia. The contract starts as soon as possible (by mutual agreement), and the role is full-time covering the Afar region. Some travel within Ethiopia will be required. This will be a 12 month contract initially.
The Ethiopia Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Activity is a five-year USAID-funded program implemented by RTI International. The DRM Activity aims to strengthen DRM planning and preparedness capacity, improve DRM coordination, enhance resource mobilization and management, and enable timely implementation of anticipatory actions to pre-empt crises and reduce the impacts of shocks. The activity will also strengthen gender in emergencies (GiE) capacity, increase private sector engagement in DRM, and expand local organizations’ capacity to engage in DRM. The Activity will support DRM institutions in implementing Ethiopia’s new Disaster Risk Management Policy and Disaster Risk Finance Strategy.
There are three objectives for the project:
Oxford Policy Management (OPM) is a sub-recipient and consortium member of the USAID/Ethiopia Disaster Risk Management Activity. OPM will support the overall program goals and targets, lead activities that support the goals of Objective 3, “Resource Mobilization and Management Enhanced,” and support tasks under Objectives 1 and 2.
Job Description for the Role:
The DRM resource mobilization coordinator will lead the process of identifying and leveraging DRM financing entry points at the regional and woreda levels leveraging engagement of private sector and participation of community in disaster risk identification and anticipatory actions.
